Composer Clint Edwards has created a new piece for Soprano, Violin and Cello which will be premiered on the 26th of June in Voelksen, Germany. The piece, a Dance Suite, takes inspiration from the multi-movement dance suites of the baroque and classical eras, and updates the traditional dance movements to employ contemporary dance forms. For instance, the Allemande, Sarabande, and Gigue become the Foxtro, Waltz and Tango. several themes unite the different movements, developing motives and harmonies to fit various keys, meters, and tempi, culminating in a suite honoring various dance traditions.
